Conservation Workshops

White Oak is a unique, innovative center for conservation, and we invite people from around the world to train with us, learn from us, and help us protect wildlife and wild places. Our philosophy is to lead the world in protecting, growing, and sustaining endangered wildlife populations and effectively managing habitats while bringing people together to support and enrich these efforts.

White Oak’s expert staff and one-of-a-kind facilities enable us to offer training programs for zoo and conservation partners. They come to White Oak to gain knowledge and practical skills that build capacity at their respective institutions, and around the world. White Oak offers training in several areas including mid-size carnivore management, ungulate management, veterinary science, and program management.

Please email training@white-oak.org with any questions or to submit application materials for any White Oak professional training program.

Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders

Each year, up-and-coming conservation leaders come together at White Oak for the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders (EWCL) program. This two-year training program jump-starts early career conservation professionals through a combination of conservation and leadership skills training, networking opportunities with peers and established practitioners, and the completion of a global wildlife conservation initiative. EWCL training addresses a long-standing need for capable leaders in the conservation field who are equipped with a full arsenal of skills to launch well-rounded and successful conservation campaigns and build successful leadership careers in the wildlife conservation profession.
